Our people are fundamental to the success of our business. We aim to retain key personnel, develop the skills and knowledge of our workforce and attract talented individuals to aid our future growth and competitiveness. At the same time, we want to ensure that everyone at Stelrad is encouraged to fulfil their potential and enjoy a long-term career with us.
To help us achieve this we focus on key areas including training and development, diversity, equality and inclusion and wellbeing, whilst building on our employee engagement programmes to ensure our employees’ voices continue to be heard. Outside of our business, we are committed to community initiatives tailored to local needs across our broad geographical spread.

We have increased the number of training days each employee received from the level seen in 2022. An increase in training was achieved across many sites, but the main impacts were driven by training in Turkey and Italy.
-
Our voluntary labour turnover rate increased slightly in 2023 but remained low for our sector, with only 112 voluntary leavers during the year. This reflects the strength of our approach to employee engagement and development.
-
The percentage of women in the workforce declined in 2023. The low levels of women employed is consistent with the demographics of the wider manufacturing sector, but we recognise that further increasing the representation of women in our business is important to our future success. Female representation in sales, general and administration positions (29.3%) and in management positions (22.2%) are both higher than the overall figure.
